'I let everyone use it': Entitled roommates steal $40 worth of coffee pods, freak out when they realize they're decaf

Living with other people is rarely easy. When you venture into the world of having a roommate or several, you either learn quickly about things like grocery labeling and cleaning schedules, or you become the reason why they exist. I think it's safe to say that most individuals in these living situations have pinched an item or two from a kitchen cupboard from time to time, but there is a limit to what you can get away with. Obliviousness or generosity will only go so far.

This is something that one Redditor's three roommates learned the hard way, after the trio kept using coffee pods without replacing them. The victim of this petty theft replaced the normal pods with decaf ones without telling them, and when the jig was up the thieves were not pleased. It will come as no surprise who's side Reddit was on. The moral of the story: buy your own stuff.

    I live with three roommates and we all try to get along. We are not perfect but we try. I have a pod coffee machine that I like. It uses fully recyclable aluminum pods not plastic. I leave it in the kitchen and I let everyone use it.

But eigther way, NTA. You didn't trick anyone to consume problematic products (like meat for a vegan, pork for a muslime, milk for someone with problems with lactose)

And you didn't switch the packaging or anything, which clearly stated the pods were decaf. It's not on you if they can't be bothered to look at the label of what they're about to drink.
